It's fascinating to me to read the different experiences of the members in your system--the similarities, contrasts, and so forth (even if I many times don't comment, I do read these essays/writings).
I can sort of relate in some ways to what you described here, Lunatani, although rather than it being canine or canine-therian like, it's more feline-like for me. Granted, I do have a domestic cat theriotype (which adds confusion in both explaining to others and understanding my own, this vampire-aspect of me), but there's enough different/distinct about blutpir (my alternative word for that vampire-aspect) from my cat theriotype that I don't view them anymore as the same thing. Blutpir is rather therian-like and if anything, I feel it has more similarities with more mammalian (especially Carnivoran and feline) therian experiences than what I've tended to gather from otherkin community experiences of being humanoid myth/fantastical creatures. Admittedly though, blutpir would be physically and mentally more human-like than adlet is for you, but I can understand the sense of higher connection and similarity, in general, with those who are therians than those who identify as humanoid myth/fantastical 'kin.
I can also relate with you some about not having the full "hunt, kill, and eat" instinct. I've almost always lacked that for all of my theriotypes (albeit, one is an herbivorous grazer, two are foragers of small, often invertebrate or insect prey, and cat is a tame, domesticated feline that doesn't have the urge to hunt for food--just to sometimes watch, stalk, or pounce certain potential "prey"). In regards to blutpir, it's seemingly oddly not about the blood or the kill--it's more so an instinct of doing the actions that would result in the vampiric feeding, kind of similar to my domestic cat hunting instincts, although they are generally more pronounced and stronger for blutpir.
I used to love running when I was a kid and in middle school--I would run digitigrade and sprint around my field barefoot multiple days a week in the spring and summer. A combination of spraining my ankle multiple times (due to running) and not having adequate space, a flat enough surface, and the privacy I prefer while running, has basically kept me away from doing that for a long time. I don't even have the proper balancing skills to run like that on the treadmill in my house, so I tend to just opt for brisk walking or jogging (although elliptical or AMT style equipment is kind of nice for running at different speeds without having to feel quite so plantigrade--you move plantigrade, but your feet stay elevated off the ground so it doesn't have the same feel and stress of running plantigrade across ground). My desire to run is tied strongest to my horse theriotype and I've had to numerous times restrict myself from giving into that urge, especially when it was prone to occurring in places I wouldn't have really been able to run or sprint in successfully.
